Be the Magic that Comes into the Room by Jane Berends, TranscendArt Workshop
Can you feel it? …a draw that takes your thoughts to a place out of focus but clear in your mind? You see glimmers of things you used to believe as a kid. You remember feeling no boundaries between you and something that you only imagine. You could just reach out and grab it. You see vivid colors that seem like a neon dream. Around the corner are people who smile and in their eyes is honesty and a joy to be there with you.
This feeling is a connection that starts with yourself. It is carried as a wave that others around you feel. It is an attraction that comes from you feeling wholeness. You are a being who is made of waves of energy that form our bodies and the world around us. In the same way that the great source energy with many names created us, we create the imaginings that are our reality. The way that we feel attracts ‘like’ vibrations to us. It is co-creation. This activity is one that we all play with using our own power to do it. It’s our perspective of our role in this playground that brings people and situations into life.
Could you bring excitement to your days by moving toward unfamiliar and potentially wonderful interactions? Let’s say you walk into a grocery store, grab a couple of things and go to the register. Do you immediately make a judgement about what the cashier is like and change your personality to engage in a minimal interaction with this person to get out of the store. Or do you allow a smile and a simple “How are you today?”, with eye contact to reflect that you are sharing the same world with him. He looks up from the register and sees a smile of gratitude for his role in your life at that moment and you see life rise in him. He wants to accept your energy exchange and brighten his awareness of those who come to the counter. “I’m doin’ alright. Are you good?”, he returns. You woke that person up.
You feel breath come into your lungs with a feeling that you just gave a wonderful gift to someone. He didn’t expect that, but you’ve seen this alivening before. You did it because it makes you feel great and you carry a smile as you leave the register.
Someone enters as you approach the exit. She sees your smile and her face changes. Her eyes dilate and the corners of her mouth turn up as she smiles back. She passes by, not wondering where the smile came from, but enjoying how it feels as she carries that smile back into the store. It is contagious. You started the snowball effect.
Simple changes in understanding your role in this world open up opportunities that are greater than anything you could possibly plan. Open the door and put a foot out there with some courage. See what waits for you to open the door. Let’s take a look at our perspectives that we take into relationships. Let’s open a view of this life to bring great opportunities for connection and fulfillment. This is just the beginning.
